TASK:

Website Redesign



I have been a BuzzFeed reader for years and I use it daily to keep up with news, trends, to chill and even figure out what the hell am I going to cook. Through the years, I've come to realize that I mainly use the BuzzFeed native app and newsletters to avoid the webpage clutter. I would say that this big amount of content is necessary and it makes BF what it is, but although this may be true, I believe I can help make it prettier and easier to navigate.



THE CHALLENGE



Creating a bridge between Mobile and Web. This idea relies on the simplification of the content display, on the visual categorization and a horizontal ordering of the content so the user can read horizontally and move vertically in just one direction - down - just like on a cellphone or a book.



FILTER SYSTEM



The filter system allows the user to display only the content that belongs to the chosen category. I made this option more accessible by not only relying on the top navigation bar but also a floating side navigation panel that would always be visible when you scroll from the top down.



COLOR SYSTEM



The color system gives the user a sense of logic and separation. This color scheme would be used on the navigation top bar and posts in order to easily identify which category it belongs to.



HOW IT LOOKS LIKE



Once you scroll down, the top navigation bar wouldn't be available and the side panel would slide in, accompanied by the "back to top" button.



THE WITTY SEARCH BOX



I've decided to give BuzzFeed a voice. No, this is not like Siri or C3-PO but it's a discrete and unexpected way for BF to engage with their readers. Yeah, BF is very flirty in my mind.
